Reset Default Lxadmin Password via commandline/backend

Sometimes when you intially setup Lxadmin, you can have problems resetting it from default.  To get around this can you can do the following:

1. Login via SSH to your VPS.

2. Run:

cd /usr/local/lxlabs/lxadmin/httpdocs

3. Then run:

/usr/bin/lphp.exe  ../bin/common/resetpassword.php master <your-new-password>

lxadmin Error: sh: vgdisplay: command not found

Lxadmin Error:

sh: vgdisplay: command not found

If you are receiving this, its probably due to the hostname being set to something which is causing a problem, so do the following to fix:

hostname temp.domain.com
cd /usr/local/lxlabs/lxadmin/httpdocs/
lphp.exe ../bin/update.php

Reset lxadmin password

To reset the LXADMIN password, do the following steps:

1. First you want to restart lxadmin service from the back end.

/etc/init.d/lxadmin restart

2. Now go to the password reset page, and give the new password. Click update all.

If LXADMIN is not restarted before changing the password, it won’t get reset.

lxadmin password not applying in HyperVM

If you get the following error in lxadmin when running HyperVM run the the command “/script/upcp” , reboot the VPS and try once again

“lxadmin  Your password is now set as a generic password which constitutes a grave security threat. Please change it immediately by  clicking here.”

What is Lxadmin?

Lxadmin allows you to run either lighttpd/apache or djbdns/bind and also provides graphical interface to switch between these programs on a live server, without losing any data.
