LVM: pvcreate /dev/sda4 gives error Device /dev/sda4 not found (or ignored by filtering).

If you are using the pvcreate command something like this:

pvcreate /dev/sda4

And it gives an error like this:

Device /dev/sda4 not found (or ignored by filtering).

This can sometimes be resolved by rebooting the server (if the LVM partition was just created, and the server has not yet been rebooted).

cPanel - Hostname A Entry Missing!

This is common error on new / or (VDS):

Once you get the POP-UP window for the error, add the ‘ A Entry’ by clicking the ‘Add’ button in the POP-UP, after verifying the IP address details that it shows. This should be done just once.

This error message will keep coming up until the of the server has started resolving to the correct IP address and the propagation has been completed.

It seems like doesn’t take into account the /etc/hosts entry.
