Reconfiguring IP in XenServer via command line

If you need to reconfigure an IP address of via the command line.

xe pif-reconfigure-ip uuid= mode=static IP= gateway= netmask=

If using DHCP for assigning IPs, then,

#xe pif-reconfigure-ip mode=dhcp uuid=

If using STATIC then,

#xe pif-reconfigure-ip mode=static DNS= gateway=<IP of Gateway> IP= netmask= uuid=

If a server has multiple network cards you can use the following commands to assist in establishing the active link:

xe pif-plug uuid
xe pif-list

HyperVM: remote_authentication_failed / Can’t reset password in HyperVM

Error: : remote_authentication_failed

If you are receiving this error, and won’t reset the password on the slave server, you can manually do this on the slave server using the following commands:

# cd /usr/local/lxlabs//httpdocs
# lphp.exe ../bin/common/resetpassword.php slave ‘password’

You then may need to force delete, and re-add the server with the new password.
